Testimonials On Steve
Steve Cotter is a highly motivational and versatile instructor. After 4 years of KB exposure and 6 months as an instructor, he broke down my technique to an even finer detail then I had thought possible. After my first KB sport meet, I did 22 Jerks and 45 snatches each arm with a 53lb KB. Based on what he saw, he believed in me to do great things in the future despite my own doubt. Based on a few sessions over the last few months with Steve, I can do 84 Jerks and 90/90 snatches having an unofficial rank of CMS. I plan on being a part of the first ever American KB team to compete with world class kettlebell athletes. My swimming has reached a national level and is at an all time high after learning from him as a world class athlete.
Steve's confidence is highly contagious and the more I work with him, the more the seemingly impossible becomes a reality. I am honored to have Steve as mentor and friend. Impressing and continuing to learn from someone with a background as a 2 Time Full Contact Kung Fu national champion is awesome. But if you met Steve Cotter, his genuine and humble attitude outweigh his lofty and well deserved credentials by far. For that I am indeed grateful.
Martin Farrell USAFI came to know Steve Cotter through his work experience as my martial arts instructor and my personal trainer. Steve is a full-contact fighting champion and has trained martial artists nation-wide. As a Strength and Conditioning Coach, Steve has trained professional athletes and law enforcement in Defensive Tactics. As a Police Sergeant and a Defensive Tactics Trainer for the San Diego City Schools Police Department, I can honestly say that I credit much of my success in law enforcement to the training I received from Steve's company, Steve Cotter Training Systems, LLC.
Steve Cotter Training Systems, LLC was involved in the development of the Defensive Tactics Training Seminar I now present annually to the San Diego City School Police Department. Steve is client-oriented. In 2000, he helped me develop a Defensive Tactics Program which met the specific needs of my police department. The drills he designed promote awareness of officer safety in an educational environment and are always executed with proper body mechanics. He incorporated breathing exercises which he calls, "Qi Gong" that promotes stress management for police officers both on and off-duty. Steve's new training methods have been embraced by local law enforcement and have influenced Defensive Tactics training throughout the County of San Diego.
In 1998, Steve assisted Investigator Mark Falcione and me in developing a Ground Fighting Course, which was presented to the La Mesa Police Department. This course was well-received. The student-officers really learned the value of realistic training. In 1999, we were asked back to LMPD to teach an Edged Weapons Defense Course. Steve helped us prepare the curriculum for this course as well.
In addition to teaching methods of physical restrain and submission, Steve is a licensed personal trainer. He has developed his own certification program, using weight-training, to promote physical fitness. Steve's Full KOntact Kettlebells training program is phenomenal. He has taken an ancient Russian system of strength training and combined it with his own methods of self-defense. He has developed what is now known as Full KOntact Training Systems, a fully comprehensive system of martial arts and strength training, complete with instructional DVD's.
Steve has shown the kind of initiative and loyalty necessary to be successful in a long-term working relationship with law enforcement. He is very well-rounded as a martial artists and a personal trainer, yet he remains focused on the overall needs of the client. I recommend Steve to you without reservation.
Sincerely,
Sergeant Rueben Q. LittlejohnSan Diego City School Police Department
