What The Pros Say
Steve Cotter has been a great inspiration to me since 2004. I had prior knowledge of him and his martial arts experience and finally I met Steve at the Arnold Fitness expo. I watched him perform a one legged squat with two 72lbs Kettlebells on his arms. I don't know of any great powerlifter who can do that including myself. He noticed my flexibility needed some work if I was to increase my lifts. With his help, my flexibility has made some great progress. My powerlifting total has gone up almost 200 pounds this past year from my previous best and better flexibility has played a part of it. I still can't do the one legged squat but Steve helped me with the kettlebell exercise called the windmill that I have incorporated into my training regimen to stay. Thank you Steve for your help, your great attitude and your gracious contribution to athletes all over the world. Dreams can be achieved when someone of your caliber and integrity takes the time to share your training secrets.
Donnie Thompson, 2005 WPO-SHW Champion, 2606 total!Steve Cotter is one of the most talented trainers in the country. He has years of expertise to share that goes way beyond just improving the physical body. I have thoroughly enjoyed connecting with him and learning how to implement kettlebell, bodyweight, and most importantly for me, visualization techniques that have improved my performance and the quality of my life.
Jeff Salzenstein — ATP Tennis Professional, All American StanfordMy name is Geoff Geary and I play for the Philadelphia Phillies professional baseball team. Last year, and soon this year; I was being trained by Steve. I trained with him for about 2 1/2 months before I went to Spring Training. I went to him looking for mental and physical strength. In that short amount of time I learned more about my body than I thought I could.
He taught me how to get the most out of my body. My strength doubled in that short amount of time. My concentration also changed drastically. I'm a pitcher and the hardest thing to do is stay focused on the task at hand when there is thousands of things going on in my head. Steve's training, depending on how serious you want to get can improve your focus as well as other ways.
For example, I don't like running! As a pitcher, endurance is one of the most important things. My endurance was twice that it was the year before and I didn't do any running with Steve. He just changed my workout to help increase my endurance. I was in better shape going into Spring Training than I ever have been.
Most of all I was MENTALLY STRONGER. For about two months I was scoreless and my earned run average was .60 per nine innings. While this was going on my all around earned run average was a 1.64 with 78 innings. I finished the season with 100 innings and 2.21 earned run average. The funny thing about all of this is I never broke down like in past years and I finished the season in the Big Leagues.
Thanks to Steve and all his help.
Thanks Again!
Geoff Geary, Philadelphia Phillies professional baseball team pitcherIt is very rare that you meet a trainer that is both an outstanding athlete as well as an incredible trainer and coach. Steve embodies both qualities more than anyone I know. Moreover, Steve has an intensity and hunger for excellence that is hard to find. If you are serious about getting in the best shape of your life, then Steve Cotter is your man.
Mike Mahler, Strength Coach and Writer for FightScene Magazine and Ironman JapanI had the chance to learn kettlebell training for the first time from Steve Cotter. His Full KOntact Kettlebells training program is perfect for fighters. It works the grip, back, legs, cardio — everything. Next time I am in America I will make a point to train with Steve, and I hope to bring him down to Brazil to have him train myself and my jiu-jitsu students.
Eduardo Telles, World Brazilian Ju-Jitsu Champion and owner of TT Jiu-Jitsu Academy, Sao Paulo, BrazilThe first time I experienced Kettlebell training was the best training of my life. It was like nothing that I have ever done before. Playing college football and doing the type of training we do as football players is not enough and Kettlebells are all it took for me to really realize that true fact. Thank you Steve for all your help and I will be seeing you soon to do some more training.
Shalimar Jackson, OL New Mexico State University, Outland Trophy FinalistSteve Cotter is top notch in his field. In three days with Steve, my endurance levels shot up three or four fold and my flexibility also went up 20% or 30%. These are extremely important when you are trying to squat 1100lbs, bench 800lbs and deadlift 800lbs and be the best 275lb Powerlifter ever in the history of the sport. Right now, my best lifts are 1058lb squat, 700lbs bench and 716 deadlift for a 2463lbs Total. With Steve Cotter's help and training with the kettlebells, I feel like I can jump those small hurdles standing in my way to be the best.
Marc "Spud" Bartley, WPO Professional Powerlifter and #1 Powerlifter in USA for 2005 in the 275lbs Class, Personal Trainer and Gym OwnerTraining with Steve is helping me develop my jiu-jitsu to a much higher level. Since I have been following his training programs, I am stronger and more flexible- strong and loose at the same time. The kettlebell training he is teaching me is giving me great power in my hips and core, which is the most important thing for a fighter.
