I have featured my friend Andrew Durniat on a previous blog.
I predict Andrew will become one of the world’s great strength athletes with his uncanny versatility. He is already making a mark internationally in Kettlebell Sport, and has a world class grip to go along with his work capacity.
I’ve met some strong people with some very specialized skill development, however, very few can do so many things so well.
Enjoy this demonstration from the recent Powerfest Strongman Competition, courtesy of the Diesel Crew:
The Inch dumbell is 172lb but with a 2.5 inch handle. The Blog is a 50lb, 4 inch wide piece of steel, 1/2 of a old style York dumbbell. Both are considered world class feats of hands strength.
Best of all, Andrew is a humble and pleasant guy, no pretensions of being better than others, even though he is
Chugging usually implies slow, however chugging also means steady. So for progress, chugging is good!
Had a busy weekend serving as host for the AKC course, and also for a friend from Iceland and some other friends coming into town for the course.
Did a few table jumps for halftime entertainment, legs felt a bit tired from the lack of sleep. Tonight was time to move the barometer a little closer to my goal of 100/100 crane dips (pistols) in 1 set.
Tonight I did 9:00 set (4:30 each leg)–140 reps 70/70. Feels good, last 20 on each leg are still a grind, but the spring is coming back steadily. This is the most I’ve done in 1 set in about 13 years or more, so that is a good testament. It tells me that 38 is not too old to do whatever I want. Of course, no age is too old
Probably 100/100 is doable in less than 3 months if I continue to do this about once per week.
Will post milestones as they are accomplished.
